Ashlynn's NEW TOY!

Ok, so second post for today... sorry!! I finished putting the swing set together today so I wanted to post it!! Ashlynn is going to be so excited!! Here it is! Clearance at Walmart.. better head over and get one... they are cool!! :)

      

Day off.. Day out of town....

Yesterday, Ty and I both had a day off, so he got the ambulance covered and we took a drive. We headed out to Pinto and then went to New Harmony. We found this old house on the way to New Harmony, and had to stop to get a picture. it was pretty neat. It still had an old table set up and a bed.. yuck but it was neat.

We made it to New Harmony and it was pretty cool there. I haven't ever been to New Harmony, just saw the houses from the freeway.. I was surprised there were more houses than what I had only seen. It was really nice little country town! If I didn't live in Enterprise, I might live there.. haha! We then headed to Cedar and went to Walmart to see if they had any swing sets on sale. I have been wanting to get Ashlynn a swing set for a while and was just waiting for the right one to go on sale!! Well we found one! It was half off... normally priced 250 and it was on clearance for 115!! YAY! Ill post pictures of it as soon as we are done getting it set up!

24th of July Fun....

This year was really fun with Ashlynn at our house. Ty had been gone all week in Maryland and got back early Saturday morning. Friday Kody went camping with Ty's brother and that night Ashlynn and I went to the Fire Dept BBQ, We had so much fun and the food was delicious!! After the BBQ, we headed out to the reservoir to hang out with Ty's brother Tom and his wife Jodi. We roasted hot dogs and smores and laughed. Good Times!!

Saturday we got up and headed to the fire station to get ready for the parade. Ty didn't want to drive his rescue this year so we all just rode on top of the fire truck and threw popsicles. Ashlynn wasn't too sure about it at first, but then was ok after awhile! We got hit with water balloons and hoses but it was nice because it was hot!! By the end of the parade Ashlynn decided it was time to start waiving... it was so cute!!!

Later that day we headed to the park to do water games. I don't know if you have read back to my post last hear about water games at the park, but its a blast! Click HERE if you want to read about last years celebrations! Anyways, this year Ashlynn wanted to get in the water. She loved it until she got sprayed or splashed. But all in all we love our redneck water games!!

That night we did fireworks at our house with Rhett, Brandi, and their family. So much fun! Then we headed to Melinda and Curtis' house for fireworks with them. I think Ashlynn had some fun with the sparklers... but I'll let you judge that by these pictures!!

Thank you Melinda and Curtis for letting us come over and play! We had fun!! So all in all, this 24th of July was definitly more fun than last year! Kids make it 10 times better!! 

Bad News...

Sorry to have posted anything sooner, have been a little behind on things. This past weekend Ty's family came up for the 24th of July activities (which I will post about tomorrow). While his brother and his wife were hanging out at with us, they gave us some bad news...

We found out that Jodi has stage 3 breast cancer. She had just found out a few days before them telling us. Wow. What a shock and blow to us and them. She is only 26 years old and has breast cancer. That is scary. This past Monday they did some tests to verify info and to see if it has spread. They said it was further along than they thought so they went in today for surgery and Tuesday they start chemo. I am so scared for her. I know she will be strong for Tom and for Lia and do her best to beat this. We are all thinking positive for her and keeping her in our prayers. It's harder when its your family, you always say what you would do when its other people, but now its in our family, its hard. I want so badly to just make it go away.

Jodi, I wish you a full recovery and fight with this cancer. I know you are a strong women and you will fight with everything you have. If you ever need anything, just call me. I will take Lia out to the park or bring you a milkshake. We love you Tom and Jodi. Good Luck!

Ty's FEMA Trip-Training....

So Ty got to spend a week in Maryland this month, he left on his birthday July 18. There were 4 guys from the fire department that got to go with. Ty, Adam Bowler, Ron Bliss, and Weston Bishop. It sounded like they were having fun, even though it was "training"... haha! They got to go to Washington DC and see lots of really cool history landmarks, which made Ty's day. That is his favorite thing!! Here are a few pictures from the guys' trip!

New Niece....

Today at 7:35 am we got a new niece. Oaklee Rebecca Childs has finally made it! She weighed 7lbs 3 oz and was 20 inches long! She is a cutie and I can't want to go meet her! Ashlynn will be so excited for the new baby cousin!!

Garden UPDATE!!

I am so excited about our garden. All of our hard work is starting to pay off! Ty told me the other day that this is the best garden he has ever had since he has lived in our house!! Yay! I was so happy! I love working in the yard... must get it from my mom and grandma! Anyways, we picked radishes out of the garden yesterday. they are so good! Oh I can't wait!!

4th of July Weekend....

Well, our weekend wasn't very eventful. Both Ty and I were on call so we had to stay in town. We actually got a lot of things done and I am pretty excited about that. We had a huge tree branch that was hanging halfway into the road. Ty and Kody climbed the tree and cut it down, when it fell it blocked the road.. we had to yank it with the truck to move it.. CRAZY! They cut it up and took most of the limbs to the tree dump, yes Enterprise has a tree dump...lol! The other were cut up for fire word for the winter time.

We spent most of the day yesterday hanging out with the dogs and putting together my new planter box with the free railroad ties we got this week. We also hung up a hammock from the trees. It was such a nice day, not to hot and had a nice little breeze. Here are a few pics from our fun afternoon.

Later that night we headed over to Melinda and Curtis' house for dinner and fireworks. I think everyone had fun. The food was good and Melinda made ice cream! It was yummy! Thanks for inviting us over!

Week Update

This week has been pretty fun for our family. Here are a few things that we have done in the past week or so...

On Monday, Ty had an interview at DRMC for Life Flight. Ashlynn and I decided to go with and have him drop us off at the pool. It is nice because I get into the pool for free because I work for the City and Ashlynn was free!! Nice right??!! Anyways, we were dropped off and spent about an hour and a half there. We swam, ate snow cones, played tether ball, and swam some more! I think Ashlynn had fun, she loves the pool!

After swimming, Ty came and got us. Don't ask how the interview went, because it didn't. He worked his butt off all week to get under the required weight they wanted. Well come to find out he was .4 pounds over. The limit was 205, he was 205.4. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING!! Yes he was sad, mad, hurt, etc. He decided that he wanted some greasy food cuz he hadn't eaten anything for a few days. We all decided to go to Larsen's Frostop in St George. It was sooo good! Thanks for dinner Ty, it was yummy! I am sorry about Life Flight, they are missing out on an amazing paramedic! Love ya babe!

On Tuesday, some girls from work and I went to Mesquite to have a GNO. It was really nice and we had a blast. The only one that won some money was Kierston.. you go girl! I had a blast and I think all the girls did too!!

Wednesday, Ashlynn and I went to the store. K-MART was having their swimming pools on sale so I decided to get one for her so that we could swim at our house. She loves it. The water was really cold but she tolerated it and had fun!

Thursday afternoon Ashlynn decided to get into my make up.. it was pretty funny when she came walking out of the bathroom looking like this...

yep that would be mascara smeared on her face.. at least she kinda knows where to put it at...
